I want to get my borther in law really god with this years family reunion practical joke and i need to text him from my sisters number without actually using her phone. Is there a service like telespoof out there for text or is there some way you can hack it?

You could try a paid service

You could try a paid service like http://www.fakemytext.com/. Im sure there is a script out there that will do this, but I haven't run across one yet.

That kinda helps however, I

That kinda helps however, I think he will still question the message if it does not come from an actual cell number. He knows that you can do this sort of thing on the computer. Is there anyway to give the apperence that the text came from my sisters cell phone?

Depending on who you want

Depending on who you want the message to say its from, if you want it to be some weird number you can use a service like:

http://www.smseverywhere.com it is free text messaging and it just has some crazy number in the from address.

If you want it to appear like it is from someones email account you have to find an open relay and spoof an email to his carriers sms gateway (Or create a crazy GMail account). For example if they are on T-Mobile you would spoof an email like this:

Message From: fakeaddress@fakedomain.com
Message To: 5553336666@tmomail.net
Message: The fake cellphone text message

Remember the message to is the 10 digit cell number without dashes!

Here is a list of the major carriers:
T-Mobile: phonenumber@tmomail.net
Virgin Mobile: phonenumber@vmobl.com
Cingular: phonenumber@cingularme.com
Sprint: phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com
Nextel: phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com

Let me know if this helps
